JOESCAN / TOOL GUIDE
Password strength & exposure check
Understand password strength and check for known exposure.
No scan runs on this page. Access and usage limits depend on your account.
What this tool does
JoeScan combines a password-strength assessment with a known-exposure check and a cryptographically secure password generator.
How to use it
- Assess length and predictable patterns.
- Check known exposure using a hash-prefix lookup.
- Generate a new password and store it in your password manager.
What it cannot tell you
Strength estimates cannot predict every attack. A password absent from the available exposure dataset may still be compromised. Avoid reusing passwords.
Before you start
Do I need an account?
You can read this guide without signing in. Running the tool requires a JoeScan account and may be subject to plan, verification and usage limits.
Are my results published on this page?
No. This guide contains no user results. Scan history is accessed in the signed-in workspace, subject to account permissions. Downloads and anything you choose to share are separate.
Does a reassuring result mean I am safe?
No. The result describes the information available to this check. Continue using strong unique passwords, two-factor authentication and up-to-date software.
